Backlog Builder
Description
What it does
Backlog Builder takes a plain-text epic description and generates a ready-to-review backlog: 2-4 use cases and 4-6 user stories, each scored against INVEST criteria, with acceptance criteria attached. Results export to CSV for import into Jira or any other tracker.
Why it exists
Built as a companion to Epic Validator — instead of checking quality after a backlog already exists, Backlog Builder helps generate the first draft itself, so analysts start from a structured baseline rather than a blank page.
My Role
Designed and independently delivered the tool using the same product pattern as Epic Validator and AI-assisted development. Defined the epic-to-backlog workflow, use-case and user-story structure, INVEST scoring rules, acceptance-criteria output, prompt behaviour and CSV export requirements. Used AI-assisted tools to assemble, test and deploy the working product. My ownership covered product logic, output quality and delivery; code generation and framework-level implementation were AI-assisted.
